Sus orígenes se remontan al año 1272, siendo la primera cartuja construida en el reino de Valencia.
Esta cartuja es el lugar de origen de la Biblia Valenciana, traducida por Bonifacio Ferrer entre 1477 y 1478.
A pesar de la belleza de la zona, la desgracia se apoderó de estos terrenos durante la guerra Civil española puesto que los terrenos de la Cartuja albergaron un campo de concentración.

Views of the carthusian monastery from Porta-Coeli, at aprox. 40 km from Valencia. It is placed between mountains, in a very well known place from the amateurs of hiking and mountain bike.
It is very advisable to make a route through the mountains in order to have amazing of the monastery and if the day is clear, it is also possible to distinguish the coast.
The monastery was built in the year 1272. It was the first carthusian monastery built in Valencia. It was also the place were the Valencia Bible was written and translated by Bonifacio Ferrer in 1477-1478.
This place is also known for disgrace, because during the spanish civil war, a concentration camp was sitted in here.
